WHO report shows progress in blood safety, but access gaps persist

Every day, safe blood helps save the lives of women experiencing childbirth complications, accident victims, cancer patients and people living with chronic diseases. Yet despite decades of progress, access to lifesaving blood remains deeply unequal, with shortages continuing to put lives at risk in many lower-income countries, according to a new World Health Organization (WHO) report.

Studenti střední školy v Plzni se zapojili do mezinárodního výměnného programu Erasmus+, který jim umožnil strávit dva týdny na partnerské škole v Berlíně. Během pobytu se studenti účastnili různorodých workshopů zaměřených na udržitelnost, obnovitelné zdroje energie a inovace v environmentálních technologiích. Tento program nejenže prohloubil jejich znalosti v oblasti ekologického vzdělávání, ale také jim poskytl příležitost zlepšit své jazykové dovednosti a navázat mezinárodní přátelství. Tato zkušenost byla pro studenty inspirativní a motivující, a navíc jim nabídla nový pohled na vzdělávání a jeho možnosti v evropském kontextu.

High School Students from Plzeň Participate in Erasmus+ Exchange Program in Berlin: Gaining First-Hand Experience in Sustainability and Environmental Innovation In the spring of 2026, a group of students from a secondary school in Plzeň had the unique opportunity to take part in an international Erasmus+ exchange program. This two-week stay at a partner school in Berlin was designed not only to deepen students’ academic knowledge, but also to expand their horizons through intercultural experiences and exposure to state-of-the-art approaches in sustainable development. During their stay, the Czech students engaged in an intensive and diverse program of workshops and seminars, focusing on sustainability, renewable energy sources, and innovations in environmental technologies.
