Quordle today – hints and answers for Sunday, September 24 (game #608)

24/09/2023 0

It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off.  Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I’m still playing now, around 18 months after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it’s fun, but also difficult. What’s more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently.  But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for this game too.  I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Spot the difference with Facebook’s new logo – warning, it’s not easy

21/09/2023 0

It seems like Facebook is undergoing a new makeover as part of a “refreshed identity system” for Meta. These changes include a refreshed Facebook logo with a darker blue background and a slight shift in the iconic lowercase ‘f’. A new color palette for the brand has been developed, introducing new hues, which Meta explains in a blog post as part of a plan to make the brand “legible at any size, flexible enough for different needs, and easy for people to interact with.” If you’re expecting a brand-new look for the veteran social media app, you’ll be disappointed, to say the least. The logo looks… pretty much exactly the same. The blue is a little bit darker, but if you weren’t made aware of the change it’s unlikely you’d notice right away.  A subtle change – very subtle The blog post goes on to say that the “new refinements drive greater harmony across the entire design […]

Amazon’s new Wi-Fi 7-ready eero Max 7 mesh router has the super-fast internet you deserve

20/09/2023 0

Amazon’s Big Devices event 2023 revealed the latest in gadgets, new tech, and smart devices from the tech giant, but one of the biggest announcements was the eero Max 7, its first Wi-Fi 7-ready mesh router system. A mesh router is meant for larger spaces that require even Wi-Fi coverage, as it consists of a main router and several nodes that can be placed throughout your space of choice. The eero Max 7 will surely be one of the best mesh Wi-Fi systems you can get, as it supports 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz radio bands, wireless speeds up to 4.3 Gbps, wired speeds up to 9.4 Gbps, and features two 10 and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports for said wired connections. And if you’re wondering how much range the eero Max 7’s Wi-Fi has, a single router provides 2,500 square feet of coverage and a three-pack (a router and two extender nodes) has up to 7,500 […]

Microsoft Edge breaks Windows 11’s tablet mode in bizarre glitch

20/09/2023 0

Microsoft Edge has reportedly gone a bit haywire with its latest update, at least for some users who are seeing the web browser presented in touch-friendly form – on desktop PCs where this isn’t necessary. What’s going on here? Well, as Windows Latest reports, after opening Edge and finding the browser updated, the browser client had bigger spaces between interface elements (including tabs) and wider buttons. This is the configuration used to make the browser better for touchscreens, giving you more space to tap on things, but the problem is that the mode is supposedly appearing on Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, which are normal (non-touchscreen) desktops. Windows Latest observes that what’s happening is that Microsoft has mistakenly forced the tablet-friendly mode to turn on with Edge, at least on some desktop PCs, which are being misidentified as tablets somehow – including the system used by the writer for the tech site. Analysis: A confusing and […]

WhatsApp may be close to launching its iPad App after a long, long wait

20/09/2023 0

It looks like WhatsApp users will finally get what so many of us have been asking for, as beta testers have had a sneak peek at an iPadOS app version of the instant messaging app. Hopefully, this means we’ll be getting an iPad app version of WhatsApp very soon.  Screenshots from WABetaInfo show that the app looks just as it does on your phone, just adapted to the iPad’s larger screen. It looks like you’d use the same QR-scanning feature to connect your account to the app, and have the same list of contacts on the left and your current chat on the right as you would when you use WhatsApp Web.  You do have to wonder why it’s taken so long for the iPadOS app to come to fruition considering how popular WhatsApp is, and the fact that we already have Facebook Messenger and Instagram on the iPad. Google reveals a revamped read-aloud feature in major accessibility update

18/09/2023 0

As Microsoft continues to enhance its user experience with new features, Google is playing catch-up and copying Edge’s homework by introducing a new-and-improved read-aloud feature to Chrome.  The read-aloud feature is currently available in the Canary test build of the browser for developers and Chrome enthusiasts, so there’s no knowing right now when we’ll see it reach the public build. It currently only allows Chrome users to control the speed at which articles and webpages are read, but more options could be added before its public release. According to Bleeping Computer, future updates could potentially allow users to switch between different voice options, which could make for an interesting and rather immersive listening experience, particularly if Google could offer different reading ‘personalities’ – perhaps something similar to TikTok’s different voiceover options, which can add completely different vibes videos. Listening to articles like a podcast! The read-aloud feature will also have a visual element in that the sentence […]
