Quordle today – hints and answers for Tuesday, February 6 (game #743)

06/02/2024 0

It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off.  Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I’m still playing now, around two years after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it’s fun, but also difficult. What’s more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently.  But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for today’s Wordle answer, you’ll probably need some hints for this game too.  I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Microsoft’s Edge browser is now more popular than ever – but why?

02/02/2024 0

Microsoft’s Edge browser is carving out more market share on desktop PCs and has hit a new record high for adoption, at least going by one set of web browser stats. These are the global statistics provided by Statcounter for last month, January 2024, in which Chrome still leads by a long way (no surprise), sitting on a 64.84% market share – but Edge is in second, now on 12.96% for desktop browsers. As noted, that’s the best ever performance for Microsoft’s Chromium-based browser, which is almost at 13%. Edge has been at just over the 11% mark before, but drifted down to as low as 10.6% during the course of last year, so Microsoft will be heartened to see it recovering, no doubt. Edge is quite some way ahead of its nearest rivals, Safari (8.83%) and Firefox (7.57%), and in fact, it’s not too far off having double the user base of Mozilla’s browser. It’s also […]

Do you dread trying to change your router settings? Login problems could soon be a thing of the past

01/02/2024 0

Your router login is not something you might need to use very often, but when you do, navigating to it – in order to get into the router and configure or check something – can be a bit of a pain. However, all that might change in the future due to a planned move from ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) as The Verge reported (and The Register first flagged up). Currently, with a good many routers, you’ll access its admin login via your web browser by typing in four numbers representing a local address (on your LAN), namely 192.168.x.x (and it’s usually 192.168.1.1, but the latter two numbers can be different in some cases). This is a bit clunky and archaic, and the mentioned differences can be confusing, though usually your router is labeled with the correct address (or the instructions have this info). Sometimes, though, you might be flailing around on Google […]

Microsoft Edge might have just been caught red-handed helping itself to Google Chrome user data

30/01/2024 0

Microsoft has had a history of implementing moves that leave users at best confused, and at worst very annoyed, and it looks like becoming the world’s most valuable company by market cap hasn’t discouraged it in the slightest.  This time, Microsoft is being accused of siphoning data from browsers made by other tech companies. Apparently, having its own proprietary browser, Microsoft Edge, and all the user data it accumulates with that isn’t enough.  Neowin reports that users are angered because Microsoft is being accused of not requesting permission to take data like opened tabs and more from Google Chrome. Like Google Chrome itself and other browsers, Edge also has a feature where you can migrate and sync your data and saved information from another browser, allowing you to switch more easily.  When you first download and set up Edge, you’ll be asked if you’d like to permit Edge to access this information and do this, but is […]
