Microsoft Edge could be getting the ability to translate videos, or at least there’s a function to do this which has been spotted in testing. A well-known leaker on X (formerly Twitter), Leopeva64, discovered the new ability in the Canary preview (earliest test) version of the web browser. In Edge Canary there is a new “Translate” button that appears when you hover over a video, currently nothing happens when you click on it:https://t.co/u9svNOzWzx.https://t.co/tHymJHy2kN pic.twitter.com/cOB9kVSynFOctober 20, 2023 See more As you can see, the leaker hovers over a YouTube video clip in the Edge browser, and as well as the option for picture-in-picture, a translate icon appears. Unfortunately, right now it does nothing if you click on it, but eventually, this could allow you to play a video with a translation provided by the browser itself. Apple, Meta and Google have been granted access by the FCC to use the super-fast 6GHz wireless band for Wi-Fi tethering – and this could signal the beginning of the end for many wires. As The Verge reports, this move follows years of lobbying by the tech giants – and it’s important to note that the FCC has only granted access for very low power (VLP) uses. This means the signals won’t go far, making sure they don’t interfere with other 6GHz devices, though higher power uses can be allowed as long as there are protections in place to avoid interference. So, what this move means is that these fast 6GHz connections could be used to replace wires for devices such as virtual reality (or augmented reality) headsets, like the upcoming Apple Vision Pro, or for in-car use, such as hooking up your iPhone via CarPlay. (Image credit: Apple) Bye-bye wires? With faster, more reliable, wireless connections, […]
UN humanitarians said on Friday that an agreement between the different sides to unlock lifesaving aid deliveries across the border to Gaza was near, as UN chief António Guterres arrived in Egypt’s northern Sinai where the Rafah border crossing is situated.
Conflict is raging, threatening to spill over multiple borders and the world’s only body charged with maintaining international peace and security can’t agree on a solution. Now what?
It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off. Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I’m still playing now, around 18 months after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it’s fun, but also difficult. What’s more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently. But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for this game too. I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints to game #634 and the answers to the main game and […]
While aid workers serving conflict-affected civilian populations depend on a set of laws to protect them, some warring parties violate these global agreements, from targeting hospitals and schools to blocking aid workers from reaching civilians with lifesaving goods and services.
