Google Chrome is using AI to make surfing the web even easier and safer

24/01/2024 0

Google announced several new AI tools to its web browser, Google Chrome, that will help you surf the web more easily, safely, and more accessible.  With the release of Chrome (M121), the tech giant is releasing experimental generative AI features, which will be available on both Chrome for Mac and Windows.  The first feature is called Tab Organizer, which enhances Tab groups by using Chrome to suggest and create tab groups based on currently open tabs. It’ll even suggest names and emoji to make it easier to find next time. To use it, right-click a tab and select “Organize Similar Tabs” or click the drop-down arrow to the left of your tabs. The second tool applies the generative AI wallpaper feature to Android 14 and Pixel 8 devices to the Chrome browser, allowing you to generate custom color themes based on your subject, mood, visual style, and color. To activate the feature, go to the “Customize Chrome” […]

24/01/2024 0

It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off.  Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I’m still playing now, around 18 months after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it’s fun, but also difficult. What’s more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently.  But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for today’s Wordle answer, you’ll probably need some hints for this game too.  I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints to game #730 and the answers to the main […]

Got a messy Google Photos library? This new Android feature will help tame it

23/01/2024 0

Keeping your Google Photos library tidy can be tricky at the best of times, but Google is finally starting to roll out a long-promised feature called ‘Photo stacks’ on Android that should be a big help. ‘Photo stacks’ promises to tame unruly Google Photos libraries by automatically grouping similar photos into stacks. This means photos taken at a similar time will all be bunched together, with Google choosing a ‘top pick’ photo to represent the stack and showing a number in the top-right corner to tell you how many snaps are in the stack.  The good news is that Photo stacks, which was originally announced back in November 2023, is starting to appear for many Google Photos users on Android after first debuting on iOS. But the bad news is that the roll-out appears to be completely random, being pushed out as a server-side update rather than an Android app update. This means that you may not […]
