Quordle today – hints and answers for Saturday, August 26 (game #579)

26/08/2023 0

It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off.  Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I’m still playing now, around 18 months after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it’s good fun, but also difficult. What’s more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a new variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently.  But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for this game too.  I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints to game #579 and the answers to the main […]

YouTube Music is finally getting one of Spotify’s best features but with one catch

25/08/2023 0

On the heels of the reveal of a different YouTube Music project, Google has announced that it’s finally bringing live lyrics to the service. Live lyrics is a feature that Spotify has offered for years, which automatically scrolls lyrics for you as a song progresses to make it easier to understand, as well as to sing along. According to Android Police, Google has been working on this feature for its own competing service and is finally making it available after months of testing. In order to access live lyrics, first navigate to a song with lyrics attached to it. Then go to the Lyrics tab in the Now Playing screen and you’ll see the feature play out. The text is much larger in the updated version (on the left of the image below) versus the old lyrics screen (on the right of the image below), and the line of lyrics currently being sung is highlighted in a […]

Scam alert: your Facebook groups may be rife with hoax posts

25/08/2023 0

Facebook groups have a serious misinformation problem, according to a new report from a leading fact-checking site – and the hundreds of hoax posts it discovered about escaped snakes and serial killers probably only hint at the scale of the global problem. The report from Full Fact (via The Guardian), which is an independent, fact-checking charity in the UK, has gathered data and examples picked up over the past year during its studies of online misinformation. Overall, Full Fact found 1,200 examples of hoax posts in Facebook groups during the last 12 months, which it says is likely to be “the tip of the iceberg”. The charity says that judging the true scale of the problem is difficult, because “many hoax posts are never fact checked or reported”. But it found that at least 115 different communities across the UK have been the victim of hoaxes, and that these posts have also appeared in many groups overseas, too. […]
